Are you passionate about cleanliness? The University is on the lookout for dynamic individuals to fill Cleaner positions on a fixed-term basis. As part of the Campus Cleaning team, reporting to the Head of Department, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a pristine environment.
Requirements:
- Grade 10/ Standard 8
- Advantageous: Grade 12 qualification
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Cleaner
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and safety regulations
Competencies:
- Understanding of cleaning best practices
- Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy
- Effective time management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Client service orientation
- Team player with the ability to work independently
- Basic reading and computer literacy skills
- Attention to detail and reasonable fitness level
- Good personal hygiene

Key Performance Areas:
- Scheduled and standard cleaning of University premises
- Regular emptying and cleaning of bins
- Removal of refuse from allocated areas
- Maintenance of a clean and hygienic kitchen
- Vacuuming and washing of floors
- Regular cleaning of windows, walls, and staircases
- Disinfection of kitchen, toilet, and bathroom fixtures
- Tidying and cleaning after meetings/events
- Spot cleaning of spillages
- Stock control and monitoring of chemicals/materials
- Identification and reporting of maintenance or safety issues
- Compliance with SHE policies and procedures
- Assistance in other areas as required
- Positive contribution to the work environment
- Availability for weekend and after-hours work
