Matric Results Announcement and Retrieval Methods
The Minister of the Department of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, is set to announce the National Senior Certificate (NSC) results on Thursday, 18 January 2024, with individual results available on Friday the 19th. Here’s a guide on how Matriculants can retrieve their results:

- SMS Service
- Send your ID number and exam number to 35658.
- Both numbers must have 13 digits.
- A once-off cost of R3 is required for registration.
- Results will be delivered by SMS upon release.
- USSD Service
- Dial *120*35658#.
- Answer multiple questions and enter your ID number.
- Receive results per subject after completion.
- Option to opt in or out for compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act.
- USSD rates apply.

- Online Retrieval
- Visit the Department of Education website and go to the matric results page.
- Enter your examination number and other required personal details, including your ID number.
- Click the search button to access your results.
- School Visit
- Matriculants can visit their high school on the day of result release, starting from 11:00 am.
- Results will be available at the school.
- Newspaper
- Check various newspaper companies for matric results published through different media forms.
- Search for your exam number or visit the newspaper’s website and navigate to the matric results tab.
- Enter your matric exam number and school name to view results on the website.
Check your SRD R350 SASSA Status
General Information on 2023 SC Examination Results:
- The results on the website reflect individual subjects written in the 2023 Senior Certificate midyear examinations and do not include National Senior Certificate midyear examination results.
- Only candidates with six or more resulted subjects will obtain a result status; otherwise, it will be marked as “Incomplete.”
- The Statement of Results will be available at centers from 7 August 2023.
- Some subject or candidate results may be excluded for technical reasons; inquire at the center where you wrote or at your district/provincial office.
- The Department of Basic Education reserves the right to change information published on the website.
