The 2025 matric results will be released on 13 January 2026, by the Minister of Basic Education, and candidates can access their results the following day, 14 January 2026.
The Matric Results Release Date 2026 is highly anticipated by students across the country.
Here are the ways to check your matric results:
Online: Visit the Department of Education’s website, enter your exam number, home language, and personal details to access your results.
School: Collect your results from your high school on 14 January 2026.
MatricsMate App: Download the app, register via SMS or USSD, and receive your results directly.
Newspapers: Note that matric results will no longer be published in newspapers due to privacy concerns.
If you have any issues or discrepancies with your results, contact your school or the Department of Basic Education immediately.
Senior Certificate candidates can only rewrite their examination in May/June 2026.
RE-MARK/RE-CHECK OF EXAM SCRIPT
A candidate may apply at the prescribed fee for the re-mark/re-check of his/her examination scripts. Registration can be done at either the school or district office in the province or online at www.eservices.gov.za (all instructions appear on the reverse side of the Statement of Results).
Closing date for applications: 31 January 2026 for both manual applications and online applications.
Fees for re-marking and re-checking per subject:
Re-mark : R116.00
Re-check : R29.00
Viewing of scripts may only be done after a re-mark or re-check of results. The closing date for applications is 7 days after release of re-mark or re-check results. The fee for viewing is R220.00
Results of remarking will be released from 14 March 2026 and will be available at the school/exam centre where the candidate sat for their 2025 examinations.How to Check Matric 2025 Results
To obtain a Senior National Certificate (NSC), a student must achieve 40% in three subjects, one of which is an official language at the Main Language level and 30% in three subjects.
Enrollers can obtain their official statement of results at the school, the exam center where they took their exams, or online through the Department of Education website.

Step 3: More personal details may be needed
Step 4: Click on “Search”
Step 5: Your 2025 matric results will now appear
Step 6: Click the download button and print.
- The results that are reflected on this website are the results of the candidates that registered for the Senior Certificate (SC).
- The results of candidates that registered for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) will be available at the examination centre where they wrote.
- The Statement of Results for all candidates will be available as per the dates listed below, at the school/examination centre where the candidate wrote the examination.
- Some candidate’s results may be excluded from the results published on this website because of technical reasons. If a candidate’s results are not on the website, the candidate should please enquire at the centre where they wrote or the district/provincial office.
- Senior Certificate candidates can only rewrite their examination in May/June 2026.
- National Senior Certificate (NSC) candidates can register for the October/November 2025 examination, at the nearest District Office, if you have not already done so. The closing dates for registration of NSC candidates who wrote the May/June examination is 21 August 2025. The registration requirements are on the reverse side of your Statement of Results.
