Crime Prevention Wardens (CPW) for 2024/2025

Centers: 90 Police Stations

The Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison invites applications for the position of Crime Prevention Wardens. The contract is for twenty-four (24) months, with the possibility of renewal. Applicants should be aged between 18 – 50 years.

Stipend: In line with Public Employment Programmes (PEPs).

Requirements:

  • Grade 10 — 12 report/certificate
  • Physically fit
  • Ability to communicate in English and other official languages
  • Must undergo Police Clearance (normal criminal record enquiry)
  • Experience and participation in crime-related structures/activities are advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Patrolling crime hotspot areas
  • Conducting search and seizure activities in schools with the assistance of SAPS members
  • Assisting in stop and search operations
  • Monitoring and reporting suspicious activities within the community
  • Eliminating elements of crime, including lawlessness and vandalism

Note: CPWs will work under the supervision of the South African Police Service (SAPS). This programme is intended for unemployed individuals only. Appointed candidates must be willing to work in various locations.
