Job Description
Cash Handling Procedures:
- Efficiently receive and process cash deposits, adhering to company policies and procedures to minimize risks.
- Thoroughly check cash containers/bags for damage or tampering, promptly reporting any irregularities to the Team Controller.
- Ensure accurate preparation of cash for effective note counting.
- Sort all deposits/notes for same-day processing within specified cutoff times.
- Send rejected notes, PCD cards, deposit slips, and stop-loss bags to the Cash Processor for verification and balancing.
- Perform meticulous reconciliation of ACDP deposits, manually inspecting rejected notes for counterfeits, dye-stained, or mutilated notes.
- Facilitate cash transfers to vaults and conduct end-of-day balancing and reconciliation of all received cash.
- Handle all transactions, including shortages and surpluses, in accordance with SOPs.
- Maintain a focus on accurate prepping to facilitate efficient note counting.
- Process bulk coin deposits and handle teller coin transfers following SBV’s policies and procedures.
- Validate transactions linked to system integrations, promptly informing client services of unlinked account numbers to prevent customer crediting delays.
- Verify deposit account numbers to prevent losses or misposts and escalate system downtime or delayed batches to the Team Controller.
- Process payroll and change transactions within SLA timeframes, promptly reporting any discrepancies to the Team Controller.
- Ensure floats are sealed in drop-safe bags with packing slips and placed into trolleys as required by clients.
- Obtain bank authorization before dispatching, following SOPs.
- Assist with accurate packing and unpacking of Bank and ATM Cash.
- Manage consumables in alignment with packing requirements and record bag and seal numbers accurately.
- Maintain and protect company assets by utilizing equipment according to SOPs.
Minimum Requirements:
- Preferably 6 to 12 months of prior cashier/teller experience.
- Matriculation with Maths Literacy.
- Successful completion of SBV Cash Processor training.
