Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or Senior Certificate
- Grade C PSIRA accreditation
- 3 years minimum retail industry exposure
- Advantageous: 1 year specific experience in a similar role
Responsibilities:
- Conduct vigilant patrols to identify and address suspicious activities
- Monitor premises, control access, and document entrance authorizations
- Investigate and report damage or unlawful entry
- Maintain high visibility as a deterrent to criminal activities
- Practice courteous and friendly customer service
- Conduct personnel and vehicle searches
- Ensure adherence to opening and closing procedures
- Report incidents to management and law enforcement
- Operate alarm systems and emergency equipment
- Provide assistance in emergency situations
- Offer ongoing security advice and safety tips
- Enforce rules and regulations to prevent criminal activity
- Perform special duties per standard operating procedures
Competencies:
- Essential: PSIRA knowledge, fire emergency, and relevant Health and Safety training
- Advantageous: Proficiency in a 3rd language
Special Conditions of Employment:
- PSIRA registered with Grade C accreditation
- South African citizenship
- MIE, clear criminal and credit record
- Driver’s license, own reliable transport, and PDP when deployed as a driver
